Individual therapy
What can I expect from therapy?
I provide trauma informed affirming psychotherapy for adults supporting neurodivergent clients (autistic, highly sensitive, ADHD etc.) as well as LGBTQIA+ folx. I also work with relationship-diverse, kink, disabled/chronic illness and activist communities.
Many of the people I see say they have gotten limited value out of "talk therapy" in past experiences and were reluctant to try again. Often this is because they felt they had to censor parts of themselves for various reasons or found that they were needing to advocate for themselves regularly with providers.
Finding a therapist who “gets" some of our lived experience can be essential for us to feel like we can show up as our most authentic selves. Sharing a therapeutic space with someone in our own community can be an entirely different sort of experience.
I believe therapy should be a non-judgmental environment where our authenticity, lived experience and perspectives feel seen and valued. We are each the expert in our own unique lived experience and intersectional identities.
My approach is collaborative, person-centered and radically neurodiversity and queer affirming. My clients say that this space supports their ongoing growth in self-understanding and self-compassion. For more about neurodiversity affirming therapy see the FAQ page.
